Adobe Reader and Acrobat software combined with Flash Drive Write Protection causes an error stating that the PDF file is corrupted. The files are not corrupt, they just cannot be opened directly from the flash drive using Adobe software presently. This error is being reviewed by Adobe. Our temporary solution for this error is:
- We replace the PDF files with HTML files that allow the PDF to automatically load in the user’s default browser.
- Then we put the PDF files in a folder called PDF or Files alongside the drive so the user can access the files normally.
- We also add a readme file to the drive informing all users to copy the PDF(s) from the flash drive to their computer before opening them if they wish.
You can also opt to not have Write Protection on the flash drive.
